ROSES KINGS CASTLES - BRITISH PLASTIC
In the past (late 2009 I think it was), me and my friend from my not-so-much-existing-anymore band have had the pleasure to support mister Adam Ficek at a night at Café Kairo in Bern, Switzerland. It was an unforgettable night.
You may be familiar with some of his songs, such as Horses, Broken Homes or Folk Song (my personal favourite) from his self-titled first album ; as well as his Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid from his EP Apples & Engines (links will be listed below). In 2010 he released his second album entitled Suburban Timebomb.
However, now he’s releasing his latest record British Plastic, an album definitely worth listening to. A free sample of the first single Here Comes The Summer can be downloaded here: http://www.rkcmusic.com/.

Oscar Wilde
I have decided to put together some of my favourite quotes from Oscar Wilde (1854-1900)
- “What men call the shadow of the body is not the shadow of the body, but is the body of the soul.” (from The Fisherman and his Soul)
- “Ignorance is a rare, exotic fruit; touch it, and the bloom has gone.” (from The Importance of Being Earnest)
- “I can resist everything except temptation.” (from Lady Windermere’s Fan)
- “To get back one’s youth, one merely has to repeat one’s follies.”
- “Education is an admirable thing. But it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can ever be taught.” (from A Few Maxims for the Instruction of the Over-Educated)
I advise everyone to read The Happy Prince and Other Tales, a collection of short stories including The Happy Prince (hence the title), The Nightingale and the Rose, The Selfish Giant, The Devoted Friend and The Remarkable Rocket.

Elliott Smith - Waltz #2
After seeing my good friend Amy ‘Fox’ Stephenson perform this song at an open mic night in Camden a number of months back I completely fell in love with it.
The song was originally released in 1998 on the album ‘XO’.
